Shop Drop Daily has published an exclusive feature on lululemon's new Harajuku flagship in Tokyo, built around TDM.Space's stills and film of the store. Read it at shopdropdaily.com .
The piece covers the store itself, sitting at the meeting point of Harajuku and Omotesando, how TDM.Space documented it from first light through to the launch event, and the production network we have established across Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai and the wider APAC region. Our architectural walkthrough film is embedded in the feature.
It carries a design note from Neil Sharman, VP Global Retail Design at lululemon, on the sculpted façade, the forged sequoia tile staircase and the 3D printed lattice ceiling; a note from Sam Bradley, Director of Store Design and Development APAC, on the global collaboration behind the build; and a note from Andrew Quinn, Senior Creative Director, Global Retail Design, on the local Japanese craft partnerships throughout the store.
On working with us, Sam wrote: “TDM has been photographing lululemon stores for many years, making Tom and his team a natural choice to document the launch of our new global flagship. Their work speaks for itself, capturing the materiality, craftsmanship, and warmth of the store in a way that truly reflects the experience of the space.”
